On The Beach

We had been walking all morning on the beach in Atlantic City. Late in the morning we began to head for lunch when we noticed a young Asian woman sitting on her heals holding an umbrella to keep the hot sun off her head and watching the fun at the edge of the sea.

Cape May Point Lighthouse
Cape May Point lighthouse is located at the southern tip of New Jersey. It once guided mariners to the entrance of the Delaware Bay. Now, it is open to the public who can climb to the viewing platform just below the light and experience a 360 degree panarama.

Great Blue Heron
The Great Blue Heron is common throughout most of the continental United States. Easily disturbed from the edges of ponds and lakes where it feeds, this large bird (46 inches long) seems to struggle to gain flight but once it's wings are fully extended to their 72 inches it quickly disappears.

Fishing After The Storm From Longport, NJ
This photo was taken after Hurricane Eduardo passed New Jersey's coastline in the summer of 1996. As clouds moved over and waves crashed against the jetty where four fisherman had gathered to fish, we captured this surreal moment of man enduring Mother Nature's violence.
